Happy Birthday Barrie

One of my dearest friends lives in New Jersey and I made this card to send with her birthday gifts...She must be special because I used one of my Hanglar Images on her card..lol

I have used My Minds Eye Papers from the 29th Street Market range. Also some fabulous flowers from Prima called Camelot Roses - Squire. Some "string" and a wonderfull charm which says it all - Friends Forever. I have also used some Flat Backed Pearls and distressed all the edges of the Paper.

I have used the gold spray from crafty notions to add a bit of glimmer to the flowers.

Isn't she adorable, I can't remember who sent me them, but I was given 24 H & S images which are like gold dust to me. I have coloured her in using Copics...now tha I have all 144 Ciao's I think I need to start collecting the Sketches too...what do you think !

Thanks for looking

Happy Birthday Mum xxx

Hi There...I hope you love the image I have used on my Mum's birthday card as much as I do, It's a digital image from Whimsy Stamps and can be found here. The image has been  drawn by Crissy Armstrong and is being sold on behalf of the American Red Cross disaster relief for Haiti. Please take and look and spend a few pounds to not only have an amazing image, but be able to make a little difference.

This is one of the only cards I have ever made WITHOUT any patterned paper. I think the image is enough on it's own with the vibrant if muted colours.  I have decoupaged the tail on her...

I have a huge selection of glitters and mixed up a colour which went beautifully with the salmon pink on the tail and mane.

I have used Copics to colour her in and some glossy accents to highlight the leaves on the harness. The flowers are Painterley Petals from Prima and the centre roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I have taken the stem of the roses and wound it around a cocktail stick to get the curls which I think are really delicate.

Anyway Happy Birthday Mum, Thanks for looking

Hello Big Sister and Mojo Monday Week 122

Well here is a very special card that my sister has asked me to make so that my new niece ( expected due date Tues 26th January 2010) can give it to her new sister ( my niece Lucy who is 10) with a whole stack of gifts which she asked her Mummy and Daddy to buy for her new sister...confused...you should be !!!!

While we were in the USA in November I managed to get a Cricut for just over £50.00....you need to go to Michaels the day after thanksgiving and see the amazing deals they have for one day only..I paid $69.00 for it...result !!! I have used the Basic George font and shadowed it..simple but effective.  I have also used the Crate Paper Caitlin range of paper (again...I love it )

The image is Tilda from the spring or summer kit ( can't remember) and I choose it because it looks like she is waving. I took the sketch from Mojo Monday Week 122.  Here is a close up of Tilda

As usual I have used my Copics to colour her in and have highlighted her hair and dots with Gold Gelly Roll pen.

I have decorated the inside as well...quite simply as I think the front of the card has quite a lot going on !!

I can't wait for Tuesday to meet my New Niece ( she is being born by elective C section so I know the date - how weird is that)

Thanks for looking

Tilda waiting sing....also Mojo Monday Challenge 121

Hi there

I seem to be on a bit of a roll at the moment with my cards.  I have finally used the gorgeous Tilda stamp from the Cristmas Magnolia Stamp Club along with the Piano..and had another go at masking which I am quickly falling on love with.

I have followed the Mojo Monday Sketch Here and have kept it quite simple, I think she should be the main focus of this card.

I have coloured her in using Copic's ( sorry I don't remember the colours) I have put glossy accents on the black piano keys so they look lovely and shiny.

The corsage I made using the Bazzill Tulle from
Craft Obsessions. The Flower is a Prima Painterly and in the centre of that flower is a gathered pink rosette with a silk rose in the centre. The charms came from NJ ( Michaels) along with the Martha Stewart giant punch and the pearls.

Isnt she adorable...a close up of the corsage..

Thanks for looking, I love your comments

Friday Sketchers Challenge 84

Hi there

Hope you are all holding out well during this "white"weather...we seem to have escaped down here in Poole in Dorset, only about an inch...and yes even we ground to a halt down here...maybe we are southern softees !!!

I have had a go at the challenge at Friday Sketchers which I really liked when I first saw it...here is my card..

and here is a close up of her..isn't she just adorable...

I have used my copics in the following colours..

Dress -V12, V15, V17
Blouse - V95, V91
Parcel - RV000, RV10
Hair - Y21, Y28, YR31

The papers are called 29th Street Market and are My Minds Eye - (Picked up in Michaels in NJ)

I made the corsage by looping the ribbon and twisiting it with fine wire, adding the pearls strands and covering the joins with a flower from Craft Obsessions.

Because the front of the card is heavy and is having a few problems staying upright, I have decorated the inside as well...this is the first time I have done this and I have to say I am rather liking it !
