Sarah Kay with love....

Good Evening

I have a very special card to show you tonight, one that I made for a special friend...

I have used a Sarah Kay image which a good friend of mine Vicky gave me ( Thanks Hun) and I love her.
The papers are Basic Grey Sugar Rush ( in the 6 x 6 size), some plain red and lilac card. The hearts were form hobbycraft and were originally a dusty pink colour, but with the help of my Cardinal Red copic, I have transformed them into something I can actually use.

For the bunch of flowers I have cut a slit under her arm and pushed the stems through ( after cutting the flowers from the image of course) I am so please the way she has turned out, I am so tempted to keep this one although I could say that about most of the cards I make.

The ribbon has been tied hap-hazardly and scrunched with some silver bead threaded wire.

I hope you like and thanks for looking...

Daisy with her Bunny from Squiggle Stamps

Hi There

I just love this stamp from Sqiuggle Stamps, her name is Daisy and she has her little pet bunny and can be found here
This is the first time I have used a stamp for anything other than a card...and I love it, it opens up a world of opportunities ! I have taken a small plastic bag and filled it with mini eggs ( I wonder who will get this at Easter!) I have cut two ovals using the oval nesties and scallops, and made a sandwich with these sticking the top together and leaving the bottom open.
I have coloured the image using my copics and have stuck mini flat backed pearls on her romper suit. I have glittered her bunny, but used a matt glitter so it gives it texture without the full on sparkle. A small sequin and crystal finish the look.
Befor I stuck the oval onto the scallop, I wrapped some Easter Ribbon around and stuck it down.  Ac couple of ribbons finish the look.

Thanks for looking, don't forget to check out Squiggle Stamps for the stamp.

Thanks for looking

Mother Day Card ..Magnolia Style -and Sketch Saturday number91

Hello again

I am going to enter this into the Sketch Saturday Challenge Number 91, This is the second of my Mothers day cards that I was asked to make and I decided to mask Tilda sitting on a tree stump which came from one of the whiff of joy stamp sets.
I have used Basic Grey Sugar Rush which I got from Craft Obsessions along with the Martha Stewart punch and the flat back pearls.  The flower is from hobbycraft and the ribbon is from my ever growing stash.
Here is a close up of her...isn't she cute.

I tied the sheer ribbon bow with a piece of fine wire and attached it to the flower. The charm is mounted with  swarovski crystals which really sparkle when they move.

Thanks for looking

Happy Mothers Day and Sketch Saturday # 91....

Hi There

I have had two commisions this week to make two mothers day cards..and here is one of them. Apparently she has always called her mum - mam hence the message which was computer generated.
I have used Tilda from one of the spring stamp clubs...and unusually I have had a go at stitching on it, please don't look too closely..

The Sketch is from Sketch Saturday  and I really like the sketch, it has lots of potential and I chose to rotate it.

I have coloured Tilda with copics and have used martha stewart glass beads in the centre of the flowers.  The arch over her head is from Heidi Swapp and actually started life as a full oval but I cut it down to fit

I used the Martha Stewart Scalloped Lace Border Punch and plenty of ink to edge the parts.

The Flowers are from Craft Obsessions . I am not sure about the papers as the were given to me by my friend Vicki ( Thanks Hun)

I have so enjoyed making this card and it seems it may be another one that I have trouble letting go !!!
Thanks for looking and I really do love your comments

Bye for now

Happy Birthday Sweet Thing...Squiggle Stamps !

Hiya...I seem to be getting in the swing of things with these lovely Squiggle Stamps...I have used Cupcake Girl for this card..she is so adorable
I have gone a bit mad with the glitter on this one, I have glittered the swiss dotted card ( made using the cuttlebug folder) Crystals and heart shaped stones on Miss Cupcake and of course she is mounted on glitter card cut using the blossoms 2 nesties from Craft Obsessions.
I wanted to show you this angle to show all the different layers.
I have used stampendous crystals stars glitter for the icing, it really does sparkle so well and gives such a nice texture.
I have stamped her twice and on the top later I just cut out her arm and the cupcake so it gives the appearance that she really is holding it. I an really please with how it came out. I have also put glossy accents on the purple "cherry" so it looks all sticky and scrumptious.

Thanks for looking

For the life of me I can't remember the name of the paper range..it's on the tip of my tongue !! I have used lace, velvet rik rak, Prisma flowers and a tiny genuine key which I picked up in a flea market.

He has been coloured using my Prisma Color pencils ( before the days of copics) and I love the depth of colour you get with them..I need to start layering Prisma's over Copics!

The inside of the card reads..
I give you the key to my heart....Always and Forever x

Valentine Tilda

Helloo there

As another week scuds by I want to show you my latest creation...Valentine Tilda. I made this card for a friends children to give to their mum ( I think it's a bit of a tradition in their house) I hope she likes it !

I have used Bo Bunny "A Gift of Love Papers" from Craft Obsessions the papers are double sided and the colours are so soft and easy to use.  I made the roses...yes I did say I made the roses using the six petal punch..the tutorial is available Here and I am hooked, unless the card is for an old man...it's gonna get roses on it !!!!
I have used my copic's for Tilda and plently of ink to shade the edges of the petals.

The sentiments were done on the computer and the bow was made with recycled ribbon from a box of choccies - what a colour match !

I am so please with this card, I almost didn't want to give it away

Happy Birthday Squiggle Monster !

Hi There, I was sooo chuffed to be asked by Tracy to be Guest Design Team Member for Squiggle Stamps for February...I intend to take my place in the team very seriously and as such have made a very serious card......NOT !!!

Here is Monster Boy and I think he is just FAB !

I have used Crate Paper from the seasons collection which I got from the lovely David and Brenda at Craft Obsessions, Thanks guys. The Rainbow is cut from one of the sheets and is mounted onto foam pads.  I love the balloons, the stamps only comes with one balloon but I thought it would be fun if he was holding a bunch. I have used glossy accents to make them shiny and tied them to his wrist with some twine.

After colouring his eyes and spines with a Gold Gelly Roll Pen, I then went blobbing with the Glossy Accents. As usual I have used Copic Ciao's to colour and Inkssentials opaque white pen to highlight.
The balloon wrinkled when they dried which gave them more of a "balloon" look. I am really loving usung these stamps, it is so easy to get stuck into a rut with the stamps, papers and accesories you use and it has been a really nice change.

Wow Exciting News...I am a Guest Designer for Squiggle Stamps...Yay

Well hello there...I am so excited, I have been asked by the lovely Tracy to be the guest designer for Squiggle Stamps for the month of February. I have been making cards for about 7 years and finally feel like I am in my element with all the beautiful stamps and gorgeous stash we can buy now.

I would like to show you my first card, I am using Oscar with Frame and I have to say I loved making this card, I am a sucker for bright colours and I think he just screams to be LOUD !!

I have cut the centre of the frame away and backed it with a piece of holographic mirri card. I lost the effect but it really pops in real life.I have raised him on sponge squares so the card is really three dimensional.

I have used the following for my card...

Copics Ciao's all from Craft Obsessions
 Hair E31-33-35-37
Skin E000 ( Sketch) -R00 (Ciao)
Jeans -B93-95-97
Frame -C1-3-5
Sweater - RV29-YG23-G07-G14-YR16-YR07

Basi Grey - Lime Rickey
Heart Shaped Brads
Red Netting
Yellow Pearls
Yellow and Green Ribbon

I printed the sentiment from the computer.

Thanks for looking, I love reading your comments !

Happy Birthday Barrie

One of my dearest friends lives in New Jersey and I made this card to send with her birthday gifts...She must be special because I used one of my Hanglar Images on her card..lol

I have used My Minds Eye Papers from the 29th Street Market range. Also some fabulous flowers from Prima called Camelot Roses - Squire. Some "string" and a wonderfull charm which says it all - Friends Forever. I have also used some Flat Backed Pearls and distressed all the edges of the Paper.

I have used the gold spray from crafty notions to add a bit of glimmer to the flowers.

Isn't she adorable, I can't remember who sent me them, but I was given 24 H & S images which are like gold dust to me. I have coloured her in using Copics...now tha I have all 144 Ciao's I think I need to start collecting the Sketches too...what do you think !

Thanks for looking

Happy Birthday Mum xxx

Hi There...I hope you love the image I have used on my Mum's birthday card as much as I do, It's a digital image from Whimsy Stamps and can be found here. The image has been  drawn by Crissy Armstrong and is being sold on behalf of the American Red Cross disaster relief for Haiti. Please take and look and spend a few pounds to not only have an amazing image, but be able to make a little difference.

This is one of the only cards I have ever made WITHOUT any patterned paper. I think the image is enough on it's own with the vibrant if muted colours.  I have decoupaged the tail on her...

I have a huge selection of glitters and mixed up a colour which went beautifully with the salmon pink on the tail and mane.

I have used Copics to colour her in and some glossy accents to highlight the leaves on the harness. The flowers are Painterley Petals from Prima and the centre roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I have taken the stem of the roses and wound it around a cocktail stick to get the curls which I think are really delicate.

Anyway Happy Birthday Mum, Thanks for looking

Hello Big Sister and Mojo Monday Week 122

Well here is a very special card that my sister has asked me to make so that my new niece ( expected due date Tues 26th January 2010) can give it to her new sister ( my niece Lucy who is 10) with a whole stack of gifts which she asked her Mummy and Daddy to buy for her new sister...confused...you should be !!!!

While we were in the USA in November I managed to get a Cricut for just over £50.00....you need to go to Michaels the day after thanksgiving and see the amazing deals they have for one day only..I paid $69.00 for it...result !!! I have used the Basic George font and shadowed it..simple but effective.  I have also used the Crate Paper Caitlin range of paper (again...I love it )

The image is Tilda from the spring or summer kit ( can't remember) and I choose it because it looks like she is waving. I took the sketch from Mojo Monday Week 122.  Here is a close up of Tilda

As usual I have used my Copics to colour her in and have highlighted her hair and dots with Gold Gelly Roll pen.

I have decorated the inside as well...quite simply as I think the front of the card has quite a lot going on !!

I can't wait for Tuesday to meet my New Niece ( she is being born by elective C section so I know the date - how weird is that)

Thanks for looking

Tilda waiting sing....also Mojo Monday Challenge 121

Hi there

I seem to be on a bit of a roll at the moment with my cards.  I have finally used the gorgeous Tilda stamp from the Cristmas Magnolia Stamp Club along with the Piano..and had another go at masking which I am quickly falling on love with.

I have followed the Mojo Monday Sketch Here and have kept it quite simple, I think she should be the main focus of this card.

I have coloured her in using Copic's ( sorry I don't remember the colours) I have put glossy accents on the black piano keys so they look lovely and shiny.

The corsage I made using the Bazzill Tulle from
Craft Obsessions. The Flower is a Prima Painterly and in the centre of that flower is a gathered pink rosette with a silk rose in the centre. The charms came from NJ ( Michaels) along with the Martha Stewart giant punch and the pearls.

Isnt she adorable...a close up of the corsage..

Thanks for looking, I love your comments

Friday Sketchers Challenge 84

Hi there

Hope you are all holding out well during this "white"weather...we seem to have escaped down here in Poole in Dorset, only about an inch...and yes even we ground to a halt down here...maybe we are southern softees !!!

I have had a go at the challenge at Friday Sketchers which I really liked when I first saw it...here is my card..

and here is a close up of her..isn't she just adorable...

I have used my copics in the following colours..

Dress -V12, V15, V17
Blouse - V95, V91
Parcel - RV000, RV10
Hair - Y21, Y28, YR31

The papers are called 29th Street Market and are My Minds Eye - (Picked up in Michaels in NJ)

I made the corsage by looping the ribbon and twisiting it with fine wire, adding the pearls strands and covering the joins with a flower from Craft Obsessions.

Because the front of the card is heavy and is having a few problems staying upright, I have decorated the inside as well...this is the first time I have done this and I have to say I am rather liking it !

Thanks for looking and for your comments
